A Brief History Of
The Chapel of Christ The King Selayang
The Chapel Of Christ The King was built in 1977 for the catholic community in Selayang Baru. Initially, there was no dedicated chapel for the Selayang community, Rev. Fr Pierre Decroocq, MEP realized there was an increasing growth of the catholic community in Selayang and traveling constrain to head to St Joseph Church Sentul, Hence he together with the community leaders decided to search for land around the selayang vicinity and found the current piece of land.

The Chapel of Christ the King was officially opened at the Feast of Christ the King and was blessed by Archbishop Dominic Vendargon. Now Chapel of Christ the King is the only Catholic Church available for parishioners around Selayang Baru, Batu Caves, and Gombak.
Why Do We Need A New Building
Chapel Of Christ The King, Selayang Baru, had sustained several structural damages over the years and the most recent one was when a strong storm damaged its roof making the condition in dire straits, moreover, with its increasing number of parishioners there is no proper classroom available for the children to get their faith education, the building also does not have many other proper facilities ( example: meeting room, male/female toilets, , parish office, and other facilities).
The community remained strong and their prayers were answered when the Building Committee was able to obtain approval to rebuild the building. Your assistance would make this community here in Selayang, Batu Caves and Gombak grow and provide a better spiritual experience to everyone.
Our Goal
Your donations would bring us a step closer to achieving the target of
MYR 5 Mill funds that we require to rebuild this house of God and assist us in our aim of having a newly constructed chapel.

The current building aged more than 45 years was built only to cater to a small community back then and cannot facilitate the full activities of a growing church. We would like to ensure to build a proper home with all facilities for the growing community that we have now.
